"The willingness to be and to have just what God wants us to be and to have, nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else, would set our hearts at rest, and we would discover that the simpler the life the greater the peace." - Elisabeth Elliot in The Shaping of a Christian Family

Newborn bunnies and a fiber festival

Things are looking good in the rabbitry. These are some of our seven French Angora kits who are now three weeks old. Aren't they darling?!

They should be ready for selling around July 12th. Their daddy has great fur, long and silky without too much guard hair. Their mama has shorter hair which we hope will result in less tangles in the offsprings' fur while producing the quantity of their father.

Their mama is a very good mama and is feeding them very well.

One of the things Sarah enjoys doing at the farm market besides spinning with her drop spindle is playing a little music on the tin whistle. She even made a little money doing that!

A couple of weeks ago we enjoyed some time snooping around the Top of the Mitt Fiber Festival. We saw a lot of beautiful yarn and wool with which to make yarn. I got some alpaca wool for Sarah to try spinning. It mixes nicely with angora. We got tempted to buy a smaller, more portable spinning wheel for her to take to the market, but resisted the temptation for now.
